The Linguistic Structure of Al-Mutanabbi's Erotic Poetry : the RhetoricalMethods and Poetic Functions

Abstract

Every person who thinks about reading or appreciates
poetry in general, and Arabic poetry in particular, concludes
that it is a unique human experience that captured the
progression of human existence and revealed the extent of
his capabilities for emergence, representation, photography,
and production. He framed and dated his movement,
creativity, and heritage. This study seeks to discuss Arab
poetry in its most outstanding period of excellence and
brilliance (the period of the Abbasi State) and through the
productions of one of its finest and most creative poets who
impressed the world with his creativity, poetry and meaning
(al-Mutanabu). This study reveals the depth and soul of
humanists in Arab poetry, the essence of al-Mutanabi's
unique poetry experience. Also, it attempts to study the linguistic and rhetorical
statement in the rhetorical methods and functions of poetry in the erotic poems of the
expressive poet, which have produced a yet distinguished and impressive creativity in
the field of poetry. The summary of the study is an attempt at a rhetorical study of the
ghazal poem in Al-Mutanabbi poetry.
